1-to-1 Childminding Support Session

Being a childminder means doing everything yourself. The planning, the paperwork, the Ofsted preparation, the child development knowledge, the safeguarding — all of it, alone. There is no staffroom to debrief in, no manager to turn to, no colleague down the corridor.

That is what this session is for.

A private, one-to-one 45-minute consultation with Jayne Renshaw — ex Ofsted early years inspector, senior leader and education professional with 20 years of experience across the sector. This is your space to ask the questions you have been sitting on, talk through a concern about a child, get an honest perspective on your practice or simply think out loud with someone who truly understands your role.

What we can cover

Whatever is most useful to you. Common topics include:

• Ofsted preparation — what inspectors look for and how to evidence your practice with confidence
• A child you are concerned about — development, behaviour, SEND, safeguarding
• Your learning journey documentation — what good looks like and what to simplify
• Planning and provision — whether your environment and routine are working as hard as they could be
• Self-evaluation — an honest, supportive conversation about your strengths and next steps

How it works

Sessions are delivered via Zoom or Google Meet at a time that suits you. Before your session you will receive a short intake form so Jayne can arrive prepared. Afterwards you will receive a brief written summary of the key points and any agreed next steps — something concrete to take away.

Registered childminders at any stage — newly registered, preparing for an inspection, returning after a break or simply wanting the kind of expert support that the sector rarely makes accessible at a price that works for you.
